The Alexs’ Wedding: The Wedding Dress Fitting

Grace Loves Lace is a wonderful little designer located at Burleigh Heads, Queensland. My love for them started when I found them on Instagram. Their dresses are not for the “conventional” bride but for the free-spirited and unique bride. Using French lace and delicate silks Grace Loves Lace creates a romantic and bohemian feel.

Getting ready for the fitting:

• give your self plenty of time in advance
• select more than just one style
• bring your shoes and lingerie
• bring company; bridesmaids, your mother, whomever will be honest and open (and someone who can take lots of photos of you in the dresses you try on)

At the fitting:

• don’t wear make up or fake tan
• take lots of photos and in various lighting
• look at all the photos and try on your favourite gown (more than once)

Making the decision will vary from person to person. For me, these were the 2 key factors:

• I envisioned myself wearing this dress all day eating, drinking, moving, dancing, hugging relatives and of course going to the bathroom!
• During the fitting I wasn’t wearing make up, my hair was messy and I had a bloated belly but when I looked at myself in the mirror and in the photos I thought I looked beautiful and confident. Feeling these things are so rare and I just knew that from the way I felt and looked I had found The Dress.
